roaring 20's

happy halloween!! i know i'm way late, i've been a bit sick so no posting for me... :( i still dressed up anyway. priorities, you know! i was a flapper...

dress: h&m, pearls: dress-up box, shoes: thirfted, unfortunately, i seem to have lost my boa... :( 

oh. my. god. ok, so i finally get around to putting my costume back on, only to find i've lost my boa. and my camera. so my iphone pics aren't that great, and you can barely see my costume. bleh. i'm sorry, guys. once i find everything, i promise i'll take better pictures...

i never understood why people stopped dressing up after they stopped going trick-or-treating... i would never give up the excuse to dress up as someone else.

but since i was sick, i stayed on the couch watching scary movies and handing out candy to trick-or-treaters. i have come to the conclusion that i think the corpse bride is one of the most beautiful movies i've ever seen... tim burton is a genius.

i love emily... and her name is just fabulous. ;)

500 days of summmer

no, i haven't seen the movie (although i think i have talked about my love for the fabulous miss zooey). this photoshoot from teen vogue just made me think of it...

to me, june is like friday: for the first bit, you have school, then you're free for the weekend/summer. july is, of course, saturday. but august is just a month of sundays. i know i still have a whole month of summer left, but it seems like school is right around the corner...

on a happier note, yesterday i went shopping, you'll probably see the spoils soon! :) i'd never been to a h&m before (although everyone seems to love it), and i think it may be one of my new favorite stores. also, urban outfitters in person is magical! the website is eh, but the actual store... well... you'll have to go and experience it yourself. sorry for the gushing! expect outfit posts soon.

why you *really* should watch yesman

zooey deschanel. oh, and the costumes. and the insane laughter that's bound to happen during the first 5 minutes of the movie.

yesterday, i watched yesman for the first time, and i have to say that i loved it. it's a totally hilarious movie (jim carrey is great), but my favorite character by far was allison, played by zooey deschanel. and then there were the costumes. *sigh......*

warning: do not read ahead if you want to see the movie and haven't yet, as there are some minor plot spoilers.

so, the first time we see zooey, she's on her scooter, being very safe and all with her helmet and her helmet is just so... so... like something a five-year-old would wear, except she can totally pull it off.

this was the only picture i could find of the first jogging scene, but as i was watching, this was exactly what i was thinking:
hmmm... very touching scene, blah blah blah. maybe i should get some ice cream... wait!! omigod, look at her outfit!! it's absolutely perfect. why can't i look like that when i run?!...

but seriously. i would love that outfit.

allison is also in a band, and comes out on stage in ensembles that could only be described as... interesting. still, of course, very cute.

and then, when allison and carl get on a plane to nebraska (or something like that), zooey wears this amazing navy coat with red piping that seems so prim and proper to me, but fun/playful at the same time.

so, overall impression of the movie? funny, good moral, ect. but the costumes were to die for. i would recommend it. :)
