ok, since i've been travelling non-stop the past few weeks, i decided to write a guide for packing for you all. then i realized i suck at packing and that you should just figure out what works for you. my personal strategy is squishing everything i might conceivably ever want to wear into a suitcase. then tossing in some undies and my toothbrush. whatever works, right? ;) anyway, my one piece of real advice is this:
avoid the dreaded tourist look at all costs. why do even the most stylish people sometimes start to totally abandon any pride/self-respect when travelling for the sake of "comfort" or "practicality"?? they might wear something they wouldn't be seen dead in at home. i say do the opposite: you might never see any of these people again, so make a good impression.
and as for suitcases: i say vintage all the way!!
who wouldn't want to carry around something like this?
(hint: for really good vintage cases, search etsy. it's a goldmine, i tell you.)
if they aren't really your style (or just plain too small) lesportsac.com is a good place for cute (modern!) luggage.
just think, you'll always be able to tell your suitcases apart from everyone else's boring black ones! :) finally, if your trip will be longer than a week/you have to go through an airport, get luggage with wheels. just save yourself the agony.
anyway, i know the summer is already half-over, i hope you all get to go on a (stylish!) vacation!

Ooh, I still want a vintage suitcase, even if they aren't practical--they're so pretty! Love the Fifi ones too, very cute.
I totally agree, with the exception of a lodge vacation where you only have contact with non family/friedns people for a small part of the day, in which case you should pack a few nice outfits for events such as dinner, when you see strangers and mostly just practical clothing for the main activities at the destination, ex: quick drying, comfy clothes if the destination involves water sports.
lesportsac prints are just so adorable :)
and great tips on packing for travelling too !!
haha, thanks for seeing the up side for me

OHH so cute, I definitely agree with you on the vintage suitcases, they're so original and unique! So different from the ordinary. And you're right, why not make a good impression, they're probably never going to see you again.
P.S: Betsey Johnson would do great suitcases especially the wheeled ones. :)
Sincerely Louie, Ciao!
Thanks for your comment, but the red dress isn't from Weardrobe--it is my own. I only borrowed two items from Weardrobe, the rest of the time it's my own clothes.
I'm going to Paris in a week or two so this was very handy! I love those suitcases - unfortunately you may be right about them being a bit on the small side ):
those are cute suitcases!
Ooh i love the vintage suitcases that you posted! ^^
But I tend to bring many things with me when I travel and then brought back more things (as in shopping results) so I guess the small suitcase is not for me ^o^
